Nestled in the heart of the prestigious Southern Rhône Valley, the Châteauneuf-du-Pape vineyard captivates wine enthusiasts worldwide with the richness and complexity of its wines. Driven by an exceptional heritage and terroir, this iconic appellation produces powerful yet elegant reds, as well as rare and expressive whites.
Furthermore, the uniqueness of Châteauneuf-du-Pape lies in its permitted grape varieties—the most extensive of any French appellation, featuring thirteen main varieties (and eighteen when counting their different expressions). It is precisely this diversity that allows winemakers to orchestrate blends of fascinating complexity. Grenache Noir often reigns supreme here, sublimated by Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, Clairette, Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, and many others.
At La Janasse
Rooted in this exceptional heritage, the story of Domaine de la Janasse has been forged over decades, becoming a true benchmark within the appellation. Since its creation in 1973, the estate has succeeded in preserving the soul of these terroirs while asserting a unique identity of its own.
Today, this quest for excellence is expressed through a mosaic of historic plots. It is this specific vineyard expertise that allows us to isolate distinct expressions—from the finesse of the Chaupin sands to the centennial power of our Vieilles Vignes. CHÂTEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE TRADITION WHITE
This Châteauneuf-du-Pape blanc Tradition embodies a striking saline freshness. Crafted from a meticulous blend of Grenache Blanc, Clairette, and Roussanne, it is then carefully aged to preserve its full radiance. This wine offers a full-bodied palate and a persistent finish, making it ideal for fine dining or an exceptional aperitif.
CHÂTEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE PRESTIGE WHITE
A true jewel of the estate, our Châteauneuf-du-Pape blanc Prestige is the fruit of rigorous plot selection. Dominated by Roussanne and complemented by our oldest vines, some over 60 years old, this limited-production cuvée reveals a rich aromatic palette of stone fruits and citrus. Its subtle vanilla touch and significant aging potential make it a truly great wine for fine dining.
CHÂTEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE TRADITION RED
Our Tradition rouge is a signature cuvée that expresses the full richness of the appellation. Crafted from a blend dominated by old-vine Grenache, it is born from a mosaic of terroirs, a mix of sandy soils and rounded pebbles. Primarily aged in large oak foudres to preserve the fruit’s brilliance, this wine stands out with notes of black fruits and violets, offering a structured yet silky palate with remarkable persistence.
CHÂTEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE CHAUPIN RED
Our cuvée Chaupin is an exceptional wine that elevates the quintessence of Grenache Noir. Sourced from our oldest plots, some dating back to 1912, it comes exclusively from cooler, later-ripening sandy terroirs. This wine stands out for its rare finesse and great aromatic elegance, offering intense notes of black and red fruits. Finally, its supple mouthfeel and silky, well-integrated tannins make it a wine of great distinction, a true archetype of the appellation.
CHÂTEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE VIEILLES VIGNES RED
A flagship cuvée of the estate, our Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes is regularly ranked among the greatest wines in the world. Its complexity indeed stems from a masterful blend of four complementary terroirs: rounded pebbles for power, sandy soils for freshness, red clays for structure, and limestone slopes for finesse. Crafted from century-old vines, it reveals deep aromas of crushed black fruits and garrigue. Thanks to this alliance, it stands as a noble and concentrated wine of rare elegance, built for exceptional aging.
